Where does Valentine's Day actually come from?
Valentine's Day goes back further than we often think. The day is named after Saint Valentine, a priest who (according to the most famous stories) secretly married lovers when it was forbidden. Love above rules, so to speak. Over the centuries, February 14th grew into a day when love, affection, and attention are central.
Not just romantic love, by the way. Friendship, gratitude, and simply letting someone know: I see you, all fit perfectly with Valentine's Day.
