Frequently asked questions about lamps

What is the difference between a lamp and a lampshade?

A complete lamp includes the components to hang or place the lamp. An individual lampshade is only the shade; therefore, always check whether you still need a matching fitting and cord.

What type of fitting do the lamps have?

This varies per model. Many of the pendant lamps and table lamps in this collection use an E27 fitting. The correct fitting and maximum wattage are listed in the product specifications.

What should I pay attention to regarding the size of a lamp?

Look primarily at the diameter and height of the lamp or lampshade and at the location where you want to use it. For a pendant lamp, it is also useful to consider the clearance above a table or work surface.

Are the lamps suitable for outdoor use?

Most lamps in this collection are intended for indoor use. Only use a product outdoors if it is clearly stated in the product information that it is suitable for that purpose.
